Situated in the village of Sauveterre de Guyenne at the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers wine region, Château Cantillac has belonged to the Fernandez family since 1956. After long years of research, varietal selection and sheer hard work, its proprietor, Roger Fernandez, raised the quality to levels of excellence. This know-how has been continued by his grandson Jean with the same respect for tradition and work well done and the desire to offer a quality product. A deep purple Merlot displaying intense blackcurrant and blackberry notes first of all, complemented by hints of spice and vanilla. The same aromas, highlighted by fresh menthol notes, are apparent in rich, dense extract lining a well-structured palate with powerful tannins just waiting to mature. An excellently crafted wine despite this great vintage, the fruit of untiring, uncompromising labour which has enabled the typical characteristics of Merlot and the high quality of the terroir to be expressed.
